Help to Grow will help you drive sustainable growth in your business and career, without ever losing what matters most to you.

Too often leadership and success experts will talk about the importance of work-life balance. We do not. The phrase implies that an improvement in one automatically equals a decline at the other end of the scale. This kind of thinking is both emotionally debilitating and factually just plain wrong. We help leaders like you improve their work-life integration, ensuring that you drive both growth in the business and your own life at the same time.

We are, we believe, the only leadership development company that teaches both people management and personal management, or; Growing Your Business and Growing Yourself.

Whatever level of leadership you aspire to, Help to Grow will provide you with a solid foundation of self-knowledge and a toolkit of practical models to aid decision making in difficult situations.

Our Mission

We democratise leadership to empower everybody in the business to improve the bottom line as well as their own health and happiness. We believe that there are many people with unrealised leadership potential. By helping them realise it we can diversify leadership, unlock their latent talents and open up new possibilities for both them and the business.

We believe passionately that good business is fundamental to a good society, and good people are essential for good business. By helping emerging leaders realise their full potential we can bring greater balance to the lives of individuals, companies and society as a whole.

Three people in a business meeting

Purpose. People. Pace.

Purpose People Pace pyramid

The Help to Grow integrated model forms the core of the Growth Leader’s programme.

The two sections labelled Self-Awareness and Self-Control respectively, are the foundation of the pyramid just as they are the foundation of a long and successful career. If we do not start with these two then not only can we find ourselves working against our values, but we can unconsciously end up sacrificing the very things we set out to work for; family, health and happiness. Further still, without the ability to regulate our worst traits and amplify our strengths our careers will be permanently mired in a struggle against ourselves.

Purpose People Pace pyramid

Purpose, People and Pace form the 3 distinct stages we train leaders to work through when leading others. We believe the best work is performed by teams who share a strong sense of purpose and are composed of great people with mutual values. These teams must then be inspired and supported by strong leadership to deliver at the maximum manageable pace. The 3Ps model is our proven framework for implementing this.

As we progress in our careers, we may realise there is more than one route to success and the top of our career mountain.

Often the easiest path does not go as far nor as high. Which path are you on?

Flying Further Together

It is not easy changing an organisation mid-flight without crashing it.

When your organisation is going through a mid-air change, try to be patient and supportive to those who are leading. They are doing their best to steer to more stable conditions on a new route.

Can a Top Dog learn new tricks?

Never mind “Old Dogs”. It’s often harder for “Top Dogs” to learn new tricks.

Do you wish your team were less dependent on you? Do you fear what would happen if you were not around?

Resources

Here we have resources from around the web that cover topics relevant to both good leadership practice and personal management. Many of these are referenced in the Help to Grow course material but anyone interested will find something useful.

Time to Lead

Good time-management skills are the foundation stones of improvement. Without developing good time management skills any attempts at self-improvement can feel like a house built on sand, stable only until a problem arises.

Wealth

In the Help to Grow leadership course, to which this resources section is linked, wealth is defined more broadly than being about financial well-being, we define wealth as being about value.
